Sweet and Salty Down-Home Southern Blues. Of course everyone has a different side. Uncle T is the alter ego of Frank Thompson Jr., a gifted songwriter and singer from New Orleans, the city that bleeds the blues. He is the brainchild of an artist who fluently speaks of gospel, jazz, and blues.
Writing and playing music has been as natural as breathing for Frank Jr. since the young age of seven. Early in life he was inspired and played gospel songs. He has written over 500 songs which included the blues, which he was reluctant to ever record due to his dedication to gospel music. Then one day, as a joke, he decided to record a song for private listening for himself and some friends. Everyone loved it so much and after remembering the words of his father, he then decided to record and release the blues.
God blessed him with the blues songs and character, Uncle T. Uncle T and the blues were inspired by a home meeting of his father, Frank Sr., and a Live Oak Elementary School band teacher, Mr. Lester Wright. Frank Jr. would walk around the band room touching and playing all the instruments, and beating the drums, he was told he would winded up a jack of all but a master of none and that he had to play the blues to make it.
Uncle T’s Blues was created as an outlet for Frank Jr. to embrace his upbringing and culture of the blues plus indulge in the New Orleans style of music that is popular in the city. Uncle T creates music that is about tasteful suggestive adult life experiences and features his original songs such as “Bad Built Woman”, “Don't Fall in Love with Me”, and “Don’t Get Mad at Jody”.
With one listen of the sweet and salty sounds of Uncle T, one immediately will feel something that "moves one emotionally and makes you laugh at the same time" which can be described as "bittersweet" it refers to a feeling that is both happy and sad, often causing a mixture of laughter and emotion due to the poignant or humorous aspects of a situation. Uncle T speaks that down home Southern Blues that makes you tap your feet and holler “Yes!”.
